WHAT WE DO

EVERY CHILD DESERVES THE OPPORTUNITY TO THRIVE.

The mission of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Santa Barbara County is to assure a safe, permanent, nurturing home for all abused and/or neglected children by providing a highly trained volunteer to advocate for them in the court system.

Report

Report what you have learned and observed to the court.

For many of the children we serve, their CASA volunteer will be the one constant in an otherwise chaotic life.

CASA Volunteers SHOW UP, STAND UP, & SPEAK UP.

Once appointed to a child’s case, CASA Volunteers are trained and supported to:

Mentor

Build a trusting relationship with the child and consistently SHOW UP by planning weekly in-person visits and activities.

Advocate

STAND UP for the child within the courtroom, classroom, and community to ensure they receive the services and resources they need to thrive.

Report

Gather information, SPEAK UP, and submit written reports directly to the court to assist in making decisions in the best interest of the child.
